Yes, it’s true! French boogaloo master Minimatic is flying back to Amsterdam from France to do his thing on 1 May 2009 at the De Nieuwe Anita. Also spinning vinyl will be yours truly DJ Natashka and the two dudes Cowboy & Henk.

Besides possibly working alongside Belgian DJ Eddy de Clercq later this year in Amsterdam, I’m hoping to bring French boogaloo master Minimatic back to Amsterdam, as well as Thomas Bohnet of Tour de France and Martin Hemmel of the French Cuts compilation. It goes without saying that I get to work with DJ Guuzbourg and more with Cowboy & Henk this year as well. And then I also plan to DJ more regularly at Amsterdam North’s Cafe Noorderlicht and more in foreign countries, if you’ll have me!

Podcast No. 32 is in the pipeline, and I need to wait till this cold-like feeling goes away (my voice is affected by it) and the neighbours make less noise to record it!

Winter in Saint-Tropez

Just before the dance floor of De Nieuwe Anita was filled with people, a friend showed up with some artificial snow and I had lots of fun with it.

I literally and figuratively warmed up the dance floor with some 60s and some cheesy numbers (Joe Dassin and Dalida), then DJ Guuzbourg joined in and got everyone all sweaty and started playing the air guitar. Upstairs in the foyer that was hotter than ever, with Cowboy & Henk playing the best in happy snappy French singles.

I want to personally thank the many people that always come to my parties, the people that came from far away just to party and everyone else who make these evenings a success. Without you I’d have no reason to throw a party. You kick derrière!
